The LORD is God

Acknowledge that the Lord is God.

He made us, and we are his—

his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Psalm 100:3

Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
He made us, and we are his[a]
his people, the sheep of his pasture.

I’ve enjoyed going back and reading Psalm 100 that Calista read during our worship service yesterday.  Verse 3 jumped out me this morning.  The reality that God’s power is my security.  Let this sink in:

Your Lord is also God!

If you’re in Christ, you have a personal relationship with God.  You can call Him LORD.  The Hebrew name is Yahweh.  That’s God’s personal name.  David reminds us here to acknowledge (synonyms would be: accept, recognize, confess, appreciate) that Yahweh is Elohim.  That’s the God of the universe.  The Creator.  The Most High.  The largest source of anything.  Bigger than we can fathom.  In other words, Elohim (God) wants you to have a personal relationship with Him where you call Him Yahweh (God).  In His power He made you a human, but through His love He made you His people.  His sheep,  “The sheep of His pasture”.   A shepherd protects his sheep.  He knows each one of them.   He knows them and they recognize his voice (see John 10:27).  Summed up, your Lord is also God , and He loves you as His sheep, and will protect you as His sheep.  Therefore, “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.  Give thanks to Him and bless His name.  For the Lord is good, and His faithful love endures forever; His faithfulness through all generations” (Psalm 100: 4 & 5).

A nonjudgmental community

I wanted to take an opportunity to invite anyone who may be reading this to visit us at the Hill. We are a nonjudgmental community who celebrates Elohim (the God of the Universe) as Yahweh (our personal God through a relationship with Jesus), and focuses on a closer walk with Him. We would love for you to come pay us a visit. Our Sunday morning Worship Services are at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. You can also catch our 11 o’clock service “live” on Facebook at If you’d like more information on any of our ministries or one of our outreach programs please give us a call at 423-526-5655, or email us at

Grace and Peace!
